UN Human Rights Committee 101st Session 14 March - 1 April 2011 New York


Examination of State Reports


During the 101st Session the Committee will consider the State Reports of:

  • Togo - Monday 14 March (pm) and Tuesday 15 March (am)
    • List of Issues
    • Written Replies to the List of Issues (not yet available)
  • Mongolia - Monday 21 March (pm) and Tuesday 22 March (am)
    • List of Issues
    • Written Replies to the List of Issues (not yet available)

NGO information on these States should be submitted by 14 February 2010. Reports should be sent by e-mail to Kate Fox, the Secretary of the Human Rights Committee (kfox@ohchr.org) and to the Centre for Civil and Political Rights (pbrett@ccprcentre.org). 25 hard copies should be sent to:

List of Issues



During the session the Human Rights Committee will adopt Lists of Issues on:


NGO Briefings


There will be a formal NGO briefing on Monday 14 March, 11.30-13.00.
NGOs may speak about any of the States which will be reviewed at this session, but presentations should be no longer than three minutes.

There will be informal briefings on:

  • Togo - Monday 14 March 13.00-14.00
  • Mongolia - Monday 21 March 13.00-14.00
  • Iran (for the List of Issues) - date to be confirmed

Informal briefings can be organised on any of the other States to be reviewed, if NGOs are interested.

Draft General Comment on Article 19



The Human Rights Committee will begin its second reading of draft General Comment 34 on Article 19 (Freedom of opinion and expression) in public session on:

  • Friday 18 March (pm)
  • Wednesday 23 March (pm)
  • Thursday 24 March (pm)
  • Friday 25 March (pm)

Follow-up to the Concluding Observations


A list of the States currently engaged in the Committee's Follow-up procedure and the reports submitted by States can be found here.

On Wednesday 30 March (15.00-16.00) the Special Rapporteur will present his progress report on the follow-up to the Concluding Observations.

The progress report from the 100th Session (October 2010) is now available in English, French and Spanish
